Where will you spend Eternity?
This is the most important Question you will ever answer.
Death comes to all of us. Do you know if you were to die today where you would spend Eternity? God's Word says He wants you to be sure:
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." I John 5:13
Yes, you truly can know that you have a home in heaven with God. The following is how you may know for sure! Is that the desire of your heart?
Salvation is only through Jesus Christ.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." I John 14:6
We have all sinned
"It is written, there is none righteous, no not one." Romans 3:10
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23
This means we can never reach heaven by our own goodness or efforts.
No one is perfect, except Jesus Christ.
Do you admit to God that you have sinned against Him?
There is an awful price to pay for sin
"For the wages of sin is death,...Romans 6:23"
"The soul that sinneth, it shall die...." Ezekiel 18:20
That means eternal death, which is separation from God forever.
"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."Revelation 20:14
The lake of fire is as real as heaven, and all those who reject Jesus Christ will find themselves there for eternity.
Do you believe this?
God has provided a way to escape
"the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"But God commendeth (demonstrated) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."Romans 5:8,
But Jesus did not remain in the grave...
"He was buried, and...He rose again the third day according to the scriptures." I Corinthians 15:4
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed." Romans 10:9-11
You see, Jesus, though He was God the Son and without sin, took your place and your punishment for sin, being nailed to the cross, and paid your full price for your sins. He shed His sinless blood that cleanses us from all sins. He died and rose again after three days, gaining victory over death for all those who truly place all their faith in Him alone.
Do you believe these truths with all your heart?
We must come to Him in faith, fully believing and trusting Him
"Without faith it is impssible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."Hebrews 11:6
If you are ready to receive God's free gift of eternal life and ask Him to forgive you of your sins, there is one step to take.
Call upon the Lord in Prayer
(you may pray this with all your heart)
Dear Lord Jesus, I believe you are God the Son who came to this earth as a man and that you paid the price for all my sins by your death on the cross. I confess to you that I am a sinner headed for hell and without hope. I now ask you to forgive me of all my sins. I believe you rose from the dead and are now in heaven ready to give me your free gift of eternal life. By faith, I now receive that gift and accept you as my Lord and my Savior. I ask that your dear Holy Spirit would come to live within me, cleanse me of all sin and take me to be with you in Heaven when I die. Thank You for dying on the Cross for me and shedding Your blood and rising from the dead. Heavenly Father, thank you for making me your child through Jesus Christ. Amen.
If that was believed with all your heart, you are now a child of God
"As many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."John 1:12
Be sure to confess to others your new faith in Jesus Christ
Jesus said: "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven."Matthew 10:32
Your next step is to be baptized as a testimony of the new life Jesus has given you
In the Bible it tells of new Christians just like you and what they did when they believed in Jesus: "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: ...." Acts 2:41
Finally, find a Bible-believing church to help you grow as a christian
"They assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians..." Acts 11:26
"Stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel..." Philippians 1:27
